SUPERORGANISMO

The work stems from an interest in and research into eusocial forms of life: ants, termites, bees and other insects that have made collective life their strength and cooperation the fundamental principle of their survival.

From this observation emerges the idea of the Superorganismo: a community made up of individual beings who, while maintaining their own identity, act as parts of a larger organism. Within the superorganism, the role of each individual is closely connected to that of the others, and every action contributes to the functioning of the entire community.

The stage thus becomes a space in which a group of dancers explores the dynamics of a community: bodies that come together, separate, support one another and continuously transform in relation to others. Movement arises from the need to build together, through a system in which every individual is essential to achieving a common goal.

As in a beehive, where groups of bees perform different and complementary functions, the dancers also become parts of a single organism in constant evolution. No body is more important than the others: every presence, every gesture and every role contributes to the construction of a collective structure.

The work thus explores the tension between individual and community, autonomy and belonging, personal identity and collective necessity, transforming principles observed in the natural world into a physical and choreographic exploration of how human beings can move, organise themselves and live together.
